Seller rules
These rules protect buyers, genuine private sellers and reputable Northern Ireland dealers.
Last updated: 9 August 2026
Only advertise vehicles you may sell
You must be the owner or have clear authority to sell the vehicle. Dealers must identify themselves as trade sellers and provide accurate business information.
Describe the vehicle honestly
Use the correct registration, make, model, year, mileage, price and location. Disclose known material facts including major damage, insurance write-off history, outstanding finance, imported status, mileage discrepancies and significant mechanical faults.
Use genuine, current photographs
Photographs must show the actual vehicle being sold. Do not use catalogue images, hide damage, add misleading overlays or include inappropriate personal information.
Price and contact conduct
Show the genuine total selling price and clearly explain any unavoidable additional charge. Do not request unsafe payment methods, send spam, impersonate another person or divert users to a fraudulent service.
Moderation and removal
Adverts may be reviewed before publication and after changes. We may request evidence, reject or remove an advert, restrict an account or preserve relevant records when we reasonably suspect fraud, illegality or a breach of these rules.
When the car is sold
Mark the advert sold or remove it promptly. Do not leave unavailable vehicles live to generate unrelated enquiries.
